History of the stationROTG

The main rationale for the GPS installation in 2009 at the tide gauge is its proximity (about 1.5 km) to the ground track of the former Topex/Poseidon and current Jason radar altimetry satellites (see pictures below).

11/07/2018 : Intervention à la station GNSS ROTG. Reboot du récepteur (13/07/2018)

Le 11 juillet 2018, jour 192, Dominique Nedelec du port de Roscoff est intervenu sur le récepteur GB1000 de ROTG en panne depuis le 7 janvier 2018.
Il était écrit 'CONNECTION FAILED' sur l'écran du GB1000 à son arrivée. Il a constaté aussi que le câble réseau entre le récepteur et le westermo était très tendu. Guidé par téléphone par E.Poirier, il a redémarré le récepteur. Aucun fichier n'a été récupéré. L'enregistrement semble depuis revenir à la normale.

26/03/2010: Automatic daily download operational (29/03/2010)

Automatic download of GPS observations are now performed daily thanks to the ADSL line provided by SHOM, shared with the tide gauge. RINEX files are available at (anonymous FTP).

26/08/2009: Installation of the GPS station (14/10/2009)

Monumentation and antenna were installed end of August. The receiver started recording on 26/08/2009. However, there is no remote telecommunication yet. In the meantime, regular manual downloads of the data files are scheduled every trimesters or so.
