Automatic download of GPS observations are now performed daily thanks to the ADSL line provided by SHOM, shared with the tide gauge. RINEX files are available at ftp.sonel.org (anonymous FTP).
Monumentation and antenna were installed end of August. The receiver started recording on 26/08/2009. However, there is no remote telecommunication yet. In the meantime, regular manual downloads of the data files are scheduled every trimesters or so.
The main rationale for the GPS installation in 2009 at the tide gauge is its proximity (about 1.5 km) to the ground track of the former Topex/Poseidon and current Jason radar altimetry satellites (see pictures below).
