"The primary bench mark is a disk set in top of a concrete retaining wall, 17.31 m (56.8 ft) east of SE corner of Center for Coastal Studies Building, 10.97 m (36.0 ft) NE of the intersection of the dock and Scripps maintenance yard, 9.39 m (30.8 ft) north of centerline of Discovery Way, 0.46 m (1.5 ft) south of the SW corner of the Benthic Laboratory Control Center, and 0.49 m (1.6 ft) above the street level."
